NAVIGATING RISK *for assessment*

👋Welcome to my last blog of the subject👏
Qatar is an extremely rich country 💸, tourists visit the country solely to experience the rich, developed, contemporary and futuristic aspects 🌇of the country as well as the deserts and dunes attractions 🏜. The overall risk rating for tourists in Qatar is considered acceptable low and safe to travel. Things to watch out for are some natural threats like sandstorms or dust storms and extreme weather (temperature can get as high as 50 degree celsius)🔥. Travellers can do some prior research about the annual temperature and weather in order to choose the most appropriate period to visit Qatar. Moreover, women travellers 👩in Qatar could experience harassment when unaccompanied, which is more irritating than dangerous, yet, could affect their mental health 😫. Therefore, it is preferable to travel with companies to enjoy the moments while travelling safely. A more serious risk to consider would be terrorism, according to economic and religious issues, terrorist attacks 💣in the Gulf region could possibly occur at random places and times. Travellers can be prepared by staying up to date with the current situation 📰and news 🗞.
How might your presence be a risk to Qatar?
‘Tourism and the Environment’ 🐾- Qatar has such spectacular landscapes of golden desert and coastal marine environment 🌊, thus attracting tourists from around the world. In addition, Arabian Oryx 🐐is famous as a national animal that is considered an endangered species. These environmental concerns are not new to the Qatar community. Lately, the country has been extensively interconnected with tourism and has prioritised tourism due to the fact that it runs a large sector of the economy.

  1. The writer once again effectively engaged her blogpost with this week’s theme, which is navigating risks. She addresses both the risks that tourists can potentially face in Qatar and the risks that they can pose to the country. It reads as being informed because it shows the rich research that the writer has done to compose this blogpost; it is also informative because she provides a lto of information regarding what travellers should be aware of, along with a hyperlink to a site that evaluates Qatar’s risk rating to which travellers can refer. Apart from the use of hyperlinks, she also adds a subtitle to identify the paragraph on how travellers can present a risk to Qatar. In addition, her use of image ties in with her topic sentence which describes Qatar as ‘rich, developed, contemporary and futuristic’. However, this blogpost could be enhanced with more evidence supporting her claims in the second paragraph, such as adding another hyperlink to prove how Arabian Oryx has now become an ‘endangered species’. In conclusion, her blog is inspiring to read because it gets us to reflect on what our behaviours can do to the environment, and it also inspires me to elaborate on the risks that travellers can pose to the destinations in my blogpost.
